Wylie Gene Howell, known as Maestro Howell, currently serves as Director of Liturgical Music for Saint Joseph Catholic Church-West End. He has served in that position since October 1989. In 1998, he was named Pastoral Associate of Saint Joseph and in 2007 was named Pastoral Administrator. He teaches Vocal Chorus at Uptown Arts for the Lois and Richard Rosenthal Foundation and also serves as part time pastoral musician at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Anderson Township, and Saint Simon, the Apostle Church in Delhi Township. A former full time educator and counselor, Maestro Howell holds Masters degrees in Education and Piano from the University of Cincinnati. He is a sought after accompanist and is known for his piano interpretations of spirituals and catholic hymns. A native of Atlanta, Georgia he has lived in Cincinnati since the early 1960's and often returns to that city to do piano recitals. A man of deep prayer he is a firm believer that Jesus is Lord!
